Conversion pixels are combined with triggers to track a specific user action on your website like a form fill, page view or button click. These user actions are defined in Google Tag Manager using triggers.

A trigger listens to your web page for certain types of events. The trigger tells the tag to fire when the specified event is detected, like a page view. Every tag must have at least one trigger in order to fire.

For this demonstration we’ll show you how to place a conversion pixel on a specific button using a trigger we create in Google Tag Manager. For the trigger variable we’ll use the buttons unique ID but there are countless ways to set up a trigger. This video demonstrates just one of the them, find more information about Triggers here.
