How to Refine an Audience

By carefully adjusting parameters such as age, gender, geographic serving area, and publisher blacklisting, you can tailor your campaign to reach the most relevant audience.

Audience refinement is available for campaign’s that have well over 10,000 device ID or campaigns that are targeting large cities or entire states.

Most advertisers are looking to use their budget to get the most impressions possible and they won't want to refine their audience any more than possible.


To refine your audience, navigate to your campaign’s ad group and open the "Audience" section. Under “Targeting Parameters”, you may choose to refine by age range or by gender.


Please note that removing an age range or gender may cut out a significant portion of your target audience.

Additional Refinements:

Geographic Ad Serving Area - The Geographic Ad Serving Area may be found under the "Audiences" section of your ad group. A Geographic Ad Serving Area refers to the location that your ads will be served. This area defaults to the “United States”. If you would like to refine this area, the United States may be removed and replaced with a different serving location.



Publisher Blacklisting - The Publisher Blacklisting section may be found at the top of your main "Campaigns" tab. Any websites that are blacklisted here will be added to Agility’s master list of Blacklisted URLs. When adding a website, please ensure to include “https://” to the URL.
